So you're saying that what's going to happen is that every sweet apple-cheeked granny who's been knifed by some scroate and is probably clinging to life on some filthy ward in A&E whilst weeping bitter salt tears and being ignored by passing doctors are going to be wheeled in to meet the nasty little criminals who tried to remove their spleens in the first place? HAVE YOU NO SHAME?!

Government: No, obviously this isn't what we were proposing. At some stage in the recovery process - and only with their consent - the victims of stabbing would have an opportunity to meet with potential criminals and bring them face to face with what could arise from their potential actions.
Step 4

It is better to have a government who does u turns than a tory leader who goes through red lights on his bike.
Clearly imprisoning 500,000 knife carrying young conservatives is not a goer is it? Ten or twenty to a cell perhaps?
I think maybe we should check a few facts first. If by right wing media you mean the BBC and Adam Bolton of SKY news then ??
You must have seen the interview JS gave to Adam. She was quite clear.
Why JS cannot just say that she has changed her mind instead of claiming she never sadi it is beyond me.

So the press release on Saturday was a figment of the right wing media's imagination?
But surely the BBC were lead by the right wing media news agenda. And since when was sky not right wing.

The press release did not mention meeting stabbing victims. It said meeting doctors.
I agree that stabbers and stab victims meeting eachother is a bad idea (especially when they are stabbing them). But surely it would be a good idea for doctors to explain to those who carry knives what damage they do.
Empathising and making the criminals understand what they do to people is a vital and positive idea.
It is the tories that made a play out of the knife crimes. Why does guido not tell the tories to shut up with this whipping up "hysteria" about knife crime. It makes things worse. In London things have got worse since their mayoral election campaign tried to make knife crime an election issue. It just made people more worried about knife crime, and made more people carry knives. Please can you speak out against the tories whipping up crime as an issue. You are supposed to be a liberal tory.
Everytime who media whip up the knife crime issues it makes more people carry knives, more people join gangs to protect themselves , and more people get killed.
